Bill A Hawkins was born on January 12, 1944 in McGregor, TX and passed away February 24, 2025 in San Antonio, TX

Bill joined the United States Marine Corps on May 31, 1966.

He served two tours in Vietnam until he was Honorably Discharged on May 28, 1970.

After his time in the service Bill attended college at Texas A&I, where he played on the football team. Alter graduating Bill began his Teaching and coaching career, where he coached all throughout south Texas for a total of 30 years.

Some of his fondest memories were when he was coaching in Natalia & Pearsall.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mildred Hawkins, his sisters  Diane Hawkins, Wynonia Montgomery, and brother Kenneth Hawkins.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Sylvia Hawkins, and son's James Ray and Matthew.

As well as his Grandchildren Brayden, Brooklyn and Arabella.

Service will take place at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Devine, TX on March 6, 2025. Rosary will begin at 9:30am with a mass to follow at 10am.

Coach Hawkins will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX on March 7, 2025 AT 9:30am, we will meet at shelter 3.
