Obituary

Billy D. Reynolds, 88, died Sunday, March 5, 2023, at his San Antonio, TX home with family by his side.

Mr. Reynolds was born in Clarendon, TX, on December 27, 1934. Bill was the second child born to Eula Ovelene McCracken and Lloyd Reynolds. A long-time resident of the Texas Panhandle, Bill moved to San Antonio during his retirement. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Amarillo, TX.

A Korean Conflict veteran Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps from February 19, 1953, through February 19, 1956. Upon leaving the military, Bill worked as a police officer and U.S. mail carrier in Amarillo, TX. He returned to college to study nursing in 1974. He graduated from Amarillo College with a degree in nursing in 1976.

Bill was an avid motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed camping, fishing, and games of chance. He was a charter member of the Golden Spread Motorcycle Club. Upon moving to San Antonio, Bill could be found most weekends at South Texas Marketplace in Devine, TX where he operated a flea market booth for many years.

Bill is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Connie Marie Renfroe; his son, Billy Paul Reynolds of Amarillo, TX; his parents; his brothers, Raymond Reynolds and Don Reynolds; and his sister Sue Ball.

Bill is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of almost 30 years, Irma Guerra Reynolds; his daughter Opal Diane Reynolds and husband, Paul Look of San Antonio, TX; Stacy Reynolds of San Marcos, TX; Irma's children, Steven Scott of San Antonio, TX; Ada Ann Venegas and her husband John of Round Rock, TX.

He is also survived by grandchildren Misty Villanueva and her husband, Michael Tretter of Kyle, TX; Billy James Welch and his wife Amber of San Marcos, TX; Shaylen Reynolds of Huntsville, TX; Jon Luc Reynolds of Comfort, TX; Westley QR Look of Dover, DE; Irma's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include his great-grandchildren; Cody Villanueva of New York; Joshua Villanueva and Alexis Tretter of Kyle, TX; and Sammy Welch of San Marcos, TX; his only remaining sister-in-law, Peggy Renfroe of Grants Pass, OR. He has numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins scattered across Texas. Bill's loyal and faithful dog, Daisy was by his side until the end.

A memorial service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road San Antonio, TX 78209, on March 31, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
