Darrell "Dutch" Simons , 66, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Known affectionately as Dutch. He was a strong and proud man—steady, dependable, and deeply devoted to his family. A U.S. Army veteran, he served his country with honor and carried great pride in that service throughout his life. That same sense of duty and loyalty defined his character and his relationships with others.

He was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. Dutch was the kind of man who would do anything for the people he loved—offering support, wisdom, or simply a listening ear whenever it was needed. He found joy in the little things, especially time spent with family and the comfort of good music.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynette Simons and her husband Robert Estrada ; his cherished grandchildren: Malakai Castillo, Makenzie Estrada , and Hailey Estrada . His step-children Sheila Holt and Johnny Lovern . He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Tony Simons and Annie Simon , and his former spouse and lifelong friend, Linda Lovern .

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sam Simons and Rex Simons , as well as his parents, Helen Pruett Simons and Willie Simons ; and his beloved nephew, Mason Simon, whom he loved very much .

Dutch's presence will be deeply missed and his memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
