Vera Neyland of Devine, TX passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at the age of 88 years. She was born in Brooklyn, New York to Giuseppe and Antoinetta Gagliardi on March 22, 1934. Vera was preceded in death by her husband Larry, her parents, and grandson Michael. Survivors include her sons Don (Susan) Neyland and Larry Wayne Neyland, her daughter Bessie (Chuck) Smith, her brother Joe (Beverly) Gagliardi, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vera spent her days crocheting, tending her vegetables and herbs, writing letters and cards, visiting with friends and family who would drop by, fussing at her dog, Lisa, chasing after escaped goats, and playing Rummikub with her friend Judy. She enjoyed trips to Walmart, HEB, going out to eat and walking over to her daughters' house for coffee if she wasn't at her house quick enough! In all her activities her life centered around family and friends. She was a member of the church of Christ.

One of the things she enjoyed the most was cooking, and we will all miss her fried chicken, and meatballs and sauce.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the many family, friends and neighbors for the prayers, phone calls, visits, cards, and food.

A memorial service will be held for Vera on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Natalia church of Christ, 304 Pearson Street, Natalia, TX 78059
