Thomas F. Guise Jr., 74, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026.

Tom was a man of strong faith, a big personality, and a generous heart. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and loved his Catholic faith. He was especially close to his priest and found great comfort in his church and his faith throughout his life. Tom and Janet were especially grateful for the members of their parish who brought them the Eucharist every weekend, even during football season. That kindness and faith meant so much to them.

Tom and his wife, Janet, were married for almost 48 years. They were silly together, sweet together, and could argue like nobody's business! But, they were also best friends and couldn't imagine life without each other. Their love was one of the constants of Tom's life, and he was devoted to Janet until the very end.

Tom proudly served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1979. He had many different careers over the years from the National Guard, civil service worker, air traffic controller, managing production lines, working in tech, small business owner, and just about anything else that needed figuring out. He was an entrepreneur at heart and never seemed to sit still for long.

But work was only one part of Tom. He was often the life of the party. Some of our best memories were weekends on the lake, where our family spent our time boating, partying, laughing, and probably making a little more noise than we should have.

Tom was always willing to help someone who needed it. If a friend or family member needed something, he was there. He gave generously, helped without being asked, and genuinely cared about people. He also had a huge soft spot for dogs and loved his dogs dearly.

Tom is survived by his wife, Janet Guise; his daughter, Stacey Golenski; his son, Thomas F. Guise III; his daughter, Lindsay Coate; his three grandsons, Spenser, Stuart, and Preston; his granddaughter, Stella; and his toy poodle, Cinnamon. He is also lovingly remembered by his cousin, Carole Elliot, and his large extended family, especially his many cousins.He is now at peace with his parents, his brother, many dear friends, and all of the beloved dogs who went before him.

He will be deeply missed, but we are grateful for the memories, the laughter, the stories, and all the love he gave us.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX to honor Tom.
